Generosity (Zoom)

Wed June 25th
7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The word generosity has a particular and layered meaning in Buddhist thought. The Buddha taught that it is the clinging to objects, emotional states or any circumstances is the cause of all unhappiness and has nothing to do with any imagined intrinsic value (or unpleasantness) in the object. Learning to give up attachment is the way to well-being and the great antidote to attachment is the practice of generosity. This talk will explore and may expand our view as to what makes an act effectively generous.
