Central to Buddhist thought and practice is the aspiration to awaken to our true nature which is rooted in four boundless qualities: relating to all with equal respect and care and the unconditional nature of love, compassion and joy in others’ good fortune.
It is common for us to mistakenly regard the truths of the Buddha's teaching as an addition to or something separate from 'real life' or 'everyday life' - yet another belief system!
In fact his words simply point out the actuality of our everyday reality which we habitually and profoundly misinterpret. His teachings do not require belief but can help each of us, with a little application, see within our own being the truths he uncovered.
